Rondo (Chapter Eight: Danger)

DANG IT!

Eri and Sayu found out about me being a vampire. Crap. Just crap. What the heck were they doing spying on me anyway? I feel like I'm about to have a heart attack right now. All of this running is tiring me, but I must get away from Eri and Sayu as soon as possible.

I bumped into a girl with long, black hair that was pulled up in a ponytail. I scratched the back of my head and I blushed in embarassment. "I'm sorry, I shold have watched where I was going." the girl apologized. Hmm, she looks familar. She does hang out with Sayu a lot. "Aren't you Sayu's mentee, Kusumi Koharu?" I asked without thinking. Koharu nodded. "Erm, well it's nice to meet you!" I waved goodbye, and I turned a corner.

Reina and Risa came out from whatever hiding place they were in. "I can't believe Eri and Sayu know about us." Risa muttered under her breath. I shook my head. Why did all of this have to happen so suddenly?

"I'm not surprised." Reina quickly replied. Risa and I stared at her, our eyes growing big. This girl must be crazy or something. "What do you mean?" Risa managed to ask. "I'm sure Eri won't tell anyone, but that Sayu girl on the other hand, she probably won't tell anyone either." "I doubt it." I muttered. "Well, they're getting themselves in a dangerous situation here." Risa added. That was true. Plus, their blood smelled even richer than my first target.

"I need to stay away from them." I said, looking down. "What?" Risa asked with an odd tone in her voice. "Well, from the expression in Eri's face, it looks like she wants to know even more about Ai-chan." Reina explained. Gosh, it's like she can read minds and expressions. Eri did look kind of scary, while Sayu was erm...puffing her cheeks.

"That's why I need to hide from them." I explained, my eyes still glued to the sidewalk. "I don't think that's going to happen." Reina shook her head in disagreement. "You need to think about it for a while." Risa's arm was around my shoulders, and I could feel heat rising in my cheeks. "You know I'm going to protect you."

"Aw, that's so sweet!" Reina poked her head in between us. "AH!" I yelled, nearly falling down. "What are your parents going to say Ai-chan?" A look of worry was painted on Risa's face. "They still think I'm with Eri." I replied, waving my hand. "Oh, thank goodness." Risa breathed in and out. "Someone was about to have a Reaction Queen moment." Reina rolled her eyes and giggled. I did also, and then we burst out laughing.

"HEY! THAT'S NOT FUNNY!" Risa pointed at us. Now she's having a Reaction Queen moment. Reina and I smirked at each other and whispered, "3...2...1!" We gathered up all our energy and ran as fast as we could to my house with a Reaction Queen screaming and running behind us.

They are so going to get it. I don't know what I'm going to do, but they are so going to get it. We get to Ai-chan's house, and Reina went to climb in the window. I follow her, but before I climbed in, I looked at Ai-chan, who was panting and trying to catch her breath. "Are you going to be okay?" I asked, my voice had a very cautious tone. Coughing, Ai-chan looked up at me and replied, "I'm going to be alright, I'm sure I can go in the front door." "Okay." I warned, climbing inside and closing the window behind me.

"At least Ai-chan got Miki'd." Reina teased, a grin forming on her face. "She didn't really get Miki'd." I replied, getting techinical. Reina was about to open her mouth, but then we heard some yelling. It sounded like Ai-chan was arguing with her parents.

"In the closet, now!" Reina grabbed my wrist and we ended up in Ai-chan's closet once again. I put my ear to the wall to listen to what's going on.

Well, the arguing ended up happening downstairs instead of upstairs. It was a long time when we heard the door open. "Okay, it's safe." I opened the closet door and went to go sit next to Ai-chan on the bed. "So, what happened?" Reina and I asked at the same time. I pulled her closer to me.

"After a lot of lying, I finally convinced them that I stayed over at Eri's house early this morning." Ai-chan explained. Reina and I just looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders. "That was a lot of yelling though." Reina muttered. I agreed, all heck broke loose downstairs.

At least she's okay, I just hope no one else interferes today.
***********************************************************************************
"Are you serious?" Sayu asked me when I told her that I wanted to know more about Ai-chan. "We shouldn't just bug Ai-chan." She was right, but Ai-chan's my best friend, and she's never told me that she's a vampire. She needs to tell me everything about this "vampire" thing.

"I'm late!" Sayu shouted as she put her hands on top of her head. "What are you late for?" Normally, Sayu's not late for anything since she's always with me. "I have to meet Koharu soon." "Koharu?" Now I was curious about this Koharu girl. Is she dating Sayu or something? "She's my mentee." Sayu replied in a shy voice. "Ooh, sounds like you like her." I said in a teasing voice. "Very funny Eri." Sayu playfully hit me on the arm. "Okay, then I guess you should go." I waved goodbye to Sayumi, and I continued walking.

What else am I going to do today? I sighed, my eyes darting up to the light blue sky. Without Sayu, I have no one else to talk to. I really want to know about Ai-chan, but Sayu was right, I can't interfere. I just hope that she's alright.

"Eri-chan?"

"EH?!" I shout seconds later. I turn around and notice a short Chinese girl behind me. Oh, I know who she is. "LinLin, hi." I smiled in relief, and waved sheepishly. This girl scared me so badly. "I noticed that you were all by yourself," LinLin giggled a little bit. She's always happy. "Where's Sayu?" My body flinched when she said Sayu's name. I don't know why though.

"She's with Koharu." I replied. "Oh, Kusumi-san." LinLin was in a thinking pose at the moment. I felt like sitting somewhere, I'm so tired of standing here. We sat down at a bench. I need to tell someone about this, and I'm sure that LinLin would understand, since she knows Ai-chan.

"Um, L-LinLin?" I asked nervously, my throat a little scratchy. "Yes?" LinLin sounded fine, it was perky and happy as usual.

"I need to tell you something."
*******************************************************************************************
"Koharu! I'm sorry I'm late!" I shouted when I was inside the room. Koharu jumped up and hugged me tightly. My cheeks were turning pink at her touch. Then again, I've been feeling like this ever since last week. "It's okay," her face was close to mine, a smile forming on her lips. "You're always late." I started blushing even harder.

"How's everything?" I asked as Koharu went to go sit down in her seat and patted the chair next to her. I obeyed and sat down. "Everything's good, but school is very boring." Koharu replied, rolling her eyes and playing with a strand of her long, black hair. Her plush lips formed into a pout, and her eyes were cast downwards.

I want to kiss them.....

OH MY GOD! SAYU WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!? YOU'RE HER MENTOR! ACT LIKE ONE DANG IT! My cheeks were crimson now. I could just feel it. Why does Koharu have to look so cute?!?

"Eh? Sayu, are you okay?" Koharu's eyes aimed towards me. "Erm...everything's fine." I lied, my face getting hotter and hotter by the second, my legs feeling like Jell-o. "Doesn't look like it," The tone in her voice sounded like she was worried. "You can tell me." No. I can't tell her about Ai-chan. I can tell her about the feelings I have for her, that is if I have the guts to say so.

"I like you Koharu." I blurted, covering my mouth with my hand. Me and my big mouth. "I like you too Sayu." Koharu walked over and she kissed me on the lips. I kissed her back, but Koharu broke the kiss. "Is there still something wrong Sayu?" I nodded. "It's about Ai-chan..." "She's your friend right? I bumped into her on the street." Koharu rubbed the back of her head, another smile forming on her lips.

"She's a vampire." I mumbled quickly. Knowing Koharu, I think she would get the message. She didn't move, her eyes growing big slowly. Her eyes slowly met mine. I was supposed to feel scared, but I could just melt.

The door opened with a loud boom. "Michishige, Kusumi, time for you to go." The lady pointed to her watch. "Yes, thank you." We said at the same time.

Koharu's fingers were tangled in mine as we exited the building. Before we parted ways, Koharu whispered, "I won't tell anyone." "Please don't." I whined, waving to her as I headed to my house.
***************************************************************************************************************************
I'm. So. Tired. If I stay out in the sun even longer, I will become drowsier than ever. Being the messenger, I have to stay up, or else I will have a whole lot of yelling from Yossie and a lot of groping from Miki.

And trust me, no one wants to be Miki'd. That was a nice save from Risa though, Ai-chan definitely doesn't want to experience that moment. Especially since I'm mostly the one that's been Miki'd.

Risa held Ai-chan's hand, and they were lying on the bed together. I feel like teasing them at this point, but that's just my personality and how I feel at the moment.

I giggled, then I smirked. I rubbed my hands together, and teased, "Ai-chan and Risa: The Lovebirds~" They flinched, and they sat up and looked at me. An innocent smile formed on my lips.

"What the heck Reina?!?" Risa and Ai-chan said at the same time. "Nothing~" I kept teasing. They rolled their eyes and they laid back down.

I love teasing them, but Eri and Sayu are on my mind at the moment. They better not have told anyone.
****************************************************************************************************************************Sayu likes me. I'm very happy about that, but at the same time, I'm so shocked about her friend, Ai-chan. She's the girl I ran into while we ran into each other. She smiled, and I noticed fangs. Why do I feel so stupid. Then again, I know I have to meet someone after the mentor/mentee meeting Sayu and I had. Where is she?

I finally saw LinLin running across the street. There were no cars. Thank goodness, because I was ready to shout at any minute.

"Sorry about that Koharu," LinLin was hypervenilating a little bit, but she was alright after a few seconds. "I had to take a walk, and Eri-chan told me about Ai-chan." I froze at her name. My eyes grew big again, and I still didn't move while LinLin was poking me. "So, I guess Sayu told you too?" LinLin asked, still poking me. I moved out of my spacey zone and replied, "Yes. She did."

"Hey, you want to come over to my house?" LinLin changed the subject. "Sure!" My energy was back, and I nodded very fast. "Okay, then let's go this way!" LinLin pointed to the left, and we went to that direction.

I hope Sayu doesn't mind about me going over to LinLin's house for the afternoon.
****************************************************************************************************************************
"Okay Aika, you jump off of the wall like this..." JunJun demonsrated, her feet shooting from the wall to the cold, hard pavement. I watched, my eyes were focused on JunJun's every move. When she landed, she looked up at me, her smile was very bright. I smiled back. "Now, you try." I gulped, feeling nervous.

I jumped off of the wall and I landed perfectly on the ground. I slowly opened my eyes and saw JunJun standing right beside me. I was shocked. "I did it!" I beamed, my smile was glowing. "That's very nice for a first try, I've never had such a fast learner." JunJun messed with her hair a little bit.

"Well, that's how I am." I smirked, poking JunJun in the cheek. "Hey!" JunJun touched her cheek on the spot where I poked her. I laughed, covering my mouth with my hand. JunJun started laughing too. "Nobody pokes the trainer in the cheek!" "Nobody except me!" I stuck out my tongue. "Okay, now our second training destination is going to be in the busier part of the city." JunJun pointed out.

I was really excited for this. I'm happy that JunJun's my trainer.
****************************************************************************************************************************
"Bananas~" I sighed, my eyes fixated on the object. It was plush, but I didn't care. I wanted to get it, but people would think I'm crazy if I went to the store and bought it. "You're supposed to train me JunJun~" Aika whined, pulling my arm. Oh crap, I got distracted again, me and bananas.

"Oh, I'm sorry Aika, let's go in this building." It was abandoned, and all the lights were on. Aika was holding on to me.

"JunJun I'm scared."

"It's okay Aika, we're going to be alright." I comforted her. We got to the stairs, and Aika's eyes met mine.

"So, are you ready to begin the second part of your training?" I asked. Aika slowly shook her head, and let go of me. "Okay, let's begin."

Everything was decorated with Chinese stuff as Koharu and I entered our large house. My parents finally decided to live in Japan after a year I came as an exchange student. They had to deal with business stuff first before moving. It was always like this whenever I came here though. However, the expression on Koharu's face was shocking. "This place is amazing!" Koharu squealed, jumping up and down.

"LinLin, who is that you brought over?" My father asked in Japanese, walking into the main hall, which is where Koharu and I were at the moment. "Father, this is Koharu, my friend." I introduced. "Hello." Koharu bowed, my father bowing also. "It is very nice to meet you Koharu, please enjoy your stay." "Thank you, I will." Koharu replied.

"Let's head up to my room." I said, and we went up to my room. We opened the door and entered my room. Koharu sat in my chair, and I sat on my bed. "There's something still on my mind." we said at the same time. "You go first." she demanded.

"Eri.."

"Sayu.." We both looked up, and we knew what the both of us were going to say next.

"Ai-chan."
