Crimson Fatalism-2

2.
When Sunny told Jessica that they had to leave due to classes, Taeyeon knew she was lying.

They walked together in silence, staring at the solid pavement. Taeyeon was in a trance, thinking about Jessica. Memories of "Gold Girl" kept flashing repeatedly in her mind.

Gold eyes, blonde hair, cold stare...

Oh my god.

Taeyeon paused in her tracks.

Sunny was unfazed. She knew who and what Taeyeon was thinking about. She knew something was up when Taeyeon decided to introduce herself.

"Don't tell me she was 'Gold Girl'," she muttered, putting her hand on Taeyeon's shoulder. "You need to stay away from her."

Taeyeon knew she had to stay away from Jessica, but she was addictive.

"Where are we going?" Taeyeon decided to change the subject. She had to get Jessica off of her mind. "We're going to get more equipment," Sunny noted. "I get the knife this time and you get the gun." Taeyeon nodded; she always liked handling the gun.

I'm a hunter after all...

Taeyeon bit her lip, realizing that they were in an alley.

Normally, the person who handled the weaponry would be here by now.

"Ah, there she is!" Sunny pointed to a tall girl with brown hair. "Let's go." Taeyeon whispered, walking over her.

"Hello Taeyeon-unnie, Sunny-unnie." she greeted formally, unlocking the silver case. "Hello Seohyun," the two greeted back. Taeyeon looked around the alley. "Where's Yuri?" "She's at the university right now," Seohyun replied, slowly opening the case. "Pick one."

Seohyun had everything from guns to knives to spears. It was like heaven for the two hunters.

"I'll take this silver gun." Taeyeon decided. Although she wanted the black gun, she thought the silver one would be a bit lighter to carry.
Sunny was still deliberating on which knife she should get. "If I were you, I would pick the sharper one." Taeyeon whispered. She pointed to a sleek and shiny knife. Its ridges were indeed, sharp. "Thanks Taeyeon." Sunny squealed, picking up the knife.

"Thanks for letting us borrow these," Taeyeon smiled as Seohyun closed the case. "We'll return these to you as soon as possible." Seohyun nodded. "Okay, good luck!" She waved before running off.

As the two girls hid their weapons and walked to Taeyeon's apartment, Taeyeon remembered her life after her father's death. Her aunt wanted her to be a proper young lady, but Taeyeon didn't want that. She wanted to learn more about vampires, and why they devour human blood.

She became a hunter for vengeance.

When she had made her first decision, she had snuck out of her aunt's home just to meet up with her friend. She was a friend who hunted for the same reason, a friend who understood her problems, and a friend who also wanted to learn more about those beasts.

Lee Sunny.

Taeyeon has known Sunny since childhood. The two had met a month after Taeyeon’s loss. At the time, Taeyeon didn’t know much about Sunny. The two would have conversations, but they weren’t very personal with each other.

Taeyeon remembered the one day where Sunny had asked if they could go to the park. Taeyeon didn't have anything productive to do that day, so she agreed to go with her.

The two were talking about random things, then they fell silent.

“Can I tell you something?” Sunny finally asked, nervously biting her bottom lip. Taeyeon nodded in reply, curious.

“My sister was killed a week ago…”

Taeyeon’s expression softened. Sunny’s sister was a very kind and thoughtful girl, so it saddened her that she was gone.

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay, but she was killed by a…supernatural creature.”

Once Taeyeon heard those last two words, she was reminded of her father’s death. She didn’t know whether or not she should tell Sunny the truth.

“It was a vampire, wasn’t it?”

“How did you know?”

“My father was killed by one too.”

It was silent between them. Nothing was heard except chatter and the chirping of birds. It was an awkward moment until Sunny whispered, "Then you must know about the hunters."

Taeyeon had heard very little of them even though the topic interested her. "Yes, I have."

"Good, then meet me here tonight." Sunny replied, then she ran off.

Taeyeon remembered everything that night. Once she had met Sunny, she had to pick a weapon from Seohyun. She then was trained by Sunny, and she was immediately a vampire hunter.

"We're here."

Taeyeon snapped out of her thoughts and took her keys out of her pocket, unlocking the door. Taeyeon sighed as she locked the door and relaxed on the couch.

"What's wrong?" Sunny sat beside her. "'Gold Girl'." Taeyeon simply replied. Sunny looked down, and the two were silent again. They didn't have anything to do during the day, so Sunny suggested that they should watch television together for the rest of the day. Although Taeyeon wanted to do something else, she agreed to it instead.
Suddenly, Taeyeon fell asleep on Sunny's shoulder. Sunny looked down and knew that 'Gold Girl' was stressing her out.

Nighttime fell, and Sunny woke the sleeping girl. "We have to go," she whispered. Taeyeon groggily grabbed the keys, and they left. Sunny made sure that they both had their weapons before they went hunting.

Once they reached the woods, Taeyeon searched for vampires. It was difficult at night because they acted just like them: humans. They weren't vampires until they would bare their fangs and devour their prey.

"I see someone." Taeyeon grabbed Sunny's arm and pointed. At first, the vampire was barely visible. Taeyeon had to squint in order to get a good view of her. Then she froze.

"What? What?" Sunny shook her, anxious. Taeyeon didn't respond.

Jessica Jung...
