Oyasumi #8

Kamei Eri was sitting in the corner of her classroom, shaking her head as the teacher demanded that she sits next to Yoshizawa Hitomi, her crush.

“No.” was Eri’s reply. She couldn’t move back any further, her back already against the wall.

“Come on Eri, it’s not that bad.” Yossie’s comforting smile made Eri’s face turn red. Eri closed her eyes, but she didn’t take a step forward. “Trust me.” Yossie held out her hand, hoping for Eri to take it. Indeed she did.

Yossie walked over to Eri’s new desk, and Eri sat down.

“Thank you Yoshizawa-san.” The teacher went back to teaching the English grammar before Yossie could reply. Instead, Yossie shrugged her shoulders as Eri tried to hide her blush, but it was too late when Yossie stared at her. ‘She’s one mysterious girl,’ Eri thought as she took out her notebook. ‘But that’s why I like her.’

Thirty minutes later, the school bell rang, and it was time to go home. Eri felt like curling up in her bed and reading her novel. But first, she needed to thank Yossie for helping her. She couldn’t believe she was doing this.

Her heart was throbbing as she was approaching Yossie’s locker, who already noticed her. Eri wanted to run home, her cheeks a little pink.

“Do you need something Eririn?” Yossie asked.

“I…I” “Yes?”

“I just…wanted to say thank you.”

“Oh, you’re welcome,” Eri could tell that Yossie was blushing a little too. She was kind of in shock.

“Anything else you want to tell me.”

“Erm…Um…Er…”

“Those aren’t words Eririn.” Yossie pointed out as she finished packing her backpack.

“IloveyouYossie.” Eri wanted to say more, but that was all that popped in her mind.

“I do too.” Yossie replied. A grin somehow appeared on Eri’s face.

“Let’s walk home together.” Yossie grabbed Eri’s hand, and the two girls walked home.
